Harkishan Singh Surjeet and
Prakash Karat were the 3rd and 4th General Secretaries of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) respectively. Harkishan Singh Surjeet was the general secretary from 1992 to 2005 and Prakash Karat is the General Secretary since 2005.
