Most of us know Titan as a Tata Group Company which is the world's 5th largest watch maker and India's largest watch maker. However, the lesser known fact is, Titan is not a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Group but it is a joint venture between Tata Group and Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation ( TIDCO - TN govt company ). TIDCO has a 28% stake in Titan and it is seen one of the most profitable investment by a state government in India.
